Burgundy Estate aims to retain the feel of open space and normality even though security needs to be comprehensive in a development of this size. The measures at Burgundy Estate are pro-active and co-ordinated by an on-site security force, encompassing entrance cameras monitoring movement, electric fencing and 24-hour patrols to provide a visual presence and act as a crime deterrent. On-site security patrol cars are equipped with two-way radios and can respond quickly to emergencies.

Burgundy Estate maintains a close working relationship with Colonel Jacobs, Commander of the Bothasig SAPS police station. The local forces' involvement in the estate's security extends to a well attended  weekly Police Forum, held every Tuesday at Burgundy Estate.  Furthermore, Burgundy also works with the Ridgewood District Watch, who occupy a guard house on the actual estate. Security at Burgundy therefore has a triple-strength approach between police, 'eyes on the ground' and advanced security technology.
